Librarians from Wellington and the Hutt Valley gathered at St. Bernard’s College’s new library.
The Librarian, Emma Kent, presented a slideshow showing stages of the development, including what the past library looked like. She explained why various decisions were made, and also how her version of genrified non-fiction works. Emma led us around her library and answered our many questions, pointing out special features. A lively quiz followed, and then a most enjoyable scrummage for free books ensued. Most of the group went on to a local restaurant for dinner. We greatly appreciated being able to come together and talk about multitudinous library matters. It is always interesting to discover what other librarians are doing, and how they are adjusting practices in these uncertain times.
