Services to Schools  
Services to Schools supports educators by providing professional learning, advice, and quality resources to inspire and inform student learning, foster their love of reading, and develop their knowledge of culture and heritage.
The National Library's Services to Schools has been supporting school libraries and supplementing classroom resources in New Zealand since 1942. The service has continued to evolve to meet schools' needs within an ever-changing education landscape and the fast-moving world of information and knowledge creation.
Today, the focus of our fully-funded services is on the priority areas of school library development, reading engagement, and digital literacy.

LIANZA

Professional Registration scheme (RLIANZA)
A formal recognition pathway for library and information professionals in New Zealand. It confirms that you meet professional standards of competency, ethics, and a commitment to continuous learning, allowing you to use the post-nominal letters RLIANZA.

Continuing Professional Development Pathway 
​A continuing professional development pathway designed for library and information professionals in New Zealand. It allows LIANZA personal and student members (as well as subscribed SLANZA members) to track their professional learning, log hours, and earn recognition. SLANZA members can apply for LIANZA CPD Registration at a special, discounted rate without needing to hold full LIANZA membership

Professional Reading - Journals & Publications

SLANZA Collected

Our bi-annual e-magazine published by the School Library Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (SLANZA). Written by school librarians for school librarians, it serves as a crucial professional development resource across the country, highlighting best practices, literacy trends, and inspiring stories from school libraries.

LIANZA Te Rau Ora Library Life
The official digital magazine published by the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA). It features articles, industry insights, and news about the GLAMIR sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums, Information, and Records) across Aotearoa.

​Synergy - Synergy is published twice annually (May/June and September/October) by the School Library Association of Victoria (SLAV). The most current issue is free to SLAV members with past issues free to all.

ACCESS is a professional journal providing a forum for educators and researchers who are concerned with issues arising from digital literacy and school librarianship. Journal-only subscriptions (without ASLA membership) are available to non-Australian residents.

International
​School Libraries Worldwide 
The official professional peer-reviewed (refereed) research journal of the International Association of School Librarianship. Beginning 2021, SLW will be published on a rolling basis, online-only.

School Library Connection
This archive contains professional development material for school librarians from the School Library Connection magazine (2015–2023) as well as the partial archives of its predecessor magazines, School Library Monthly and Library Media Connection. Additionally, the archive contains more than 100 prerecorded webinars and self-paced, video-based courses.

Evidence Based Library and Information Practice
EBLIP is a peer reviewed, open access journal published quarterly by the University of Alberta Library. 


School Library Research (SLR)
As the scholarly refereed research journal of the American Association of School Librarians the purpose of School Library Research is to promote and publish high quality original research concerning the management, implementation, and evaluation of school library programs.
