Living Library Tour: Ngā Pakanga o Waikato: The Waikato Wars On Friday 16 November 2018 the annual SLANZA Waikato / Bay of Plenty Library Tour took a fresh perspective on library and the curriculum and hired a bus and guide to tour Waikato War sites. The 28 participants included a mix of mostly primary and secondary school librarians and their teachers, including history teachers. Each stop of this sobering and thought provoking tour generated rich conversation and a new respect for the history on our doorstep. To support the tour, each school received a National Library bag containing the new Curiosity Cards Kit. To save on paper, each bag also had a tag containing the url http://bit.ly/S2SNZHistory which lists direct links to support resources including the Curiosity Cards and other key National Library Services to Schools resources. The Waikato War Driving Tour includes 13 sites of which our tour included the last four - Rangiaowhia, Kihikihi, Orakau and Pirongia/Alexandra Redoubt. Saturday 15th September 2018
