News update February 2010
2010 is going to be a great year for SLANZA and its members.
SLANZA WebsiteI’m absolutely thrilled to be able to now officially launch our new-look website. Miriam Tuohy and Bridget Schaumann have been working furiously on this for more than three months and we all hope you like the new look and feel of it. If you have any feedback for us please contact either myself, Miriam or Bridget with your thoughts or suggestions.
SLANZA Wiki Don’t forget to check out the SLANZA Wiki for all sorts of help with things like reading lists, good professional discussions and library management ideas to web 2.0, information literacy and even fun stuff.
We now also have a presence of Facebook and Twitter so there are all sorts of ways to interact with SLANZA online. Look out for us!
10 Year CelebrationThis is SLANZA’s 10th year as an organisation and we are looking forward to celebrating this achievement during the year. Already a group of the founding SLANZA committee members have met several times to discuss celebration ideas. These will be further developed and announced with dates this term.
Sponsorship NewsI’m thrilled to be able to announce that at the end of last year SLANZA and Book Protection Products finalised a partnership which sees Warick and his team financially supporting professional development opportunities in the regions over the next three years. Book Protection Products was a welcome sponsor at our fantastic Christchurch conference last year and we are excited that our collaboration with this great team is being expanded.
On the theme of collaboration, we are also very excited to be working closely with National Library as they roll out some of their exciting new initiatives into 2010.
Your National Executive team is very keen to hear from our members. If you have any ideas, comments, or questions please feel free to contact your local SLANZA representative or you can email me at [email protected]. Our membership is strong and passionate, and together we can achieve great things. Lets all be part of it!
