Come along to the next SLANZA Wellington PLD where we bring together a range of different ways to organise your non-fiction collections.  There'll be time to hear from and ask questions to primary and secondary librarians that have made small or big changes to their collections.   Franken-deweyed, shortened dewey numbers, mixed fiction and non-fiction together, created stand-along collections or sorted by face out category. There are lots of possibilities.

Book out your calendar for Thursday 1st September 4 - 5:30pm. RSVP here

Hosted by Aotea College, 1 Okowai Road, Aotea, Porirua.  Arrive from 3:45.
If you arrive after 4pm and the main doors are locked.  Walk around the front of the long building on the rugby field side to the main library sliding doors, located in the middle of the building.

As a special treat The Coffee Hut will be open for a cafe hot drink along with afternoon tea while we do our usual networking and browsing we all love.

Term 4 Christmas End of Year Celebration

Librarians from Wellington and the Hutt Valley gathered at St. Bernard’s College’s new library.
The Librarian, Emma Kent, presented a slideshow showing stages of the development, including what the past library looked like. She explained why various decisions were made, and also how her version of genrified non-fiction works. Emma led us around her library and answered our many
questions, pointing out special features.
A lively quiz followed, and then a most enjoyable scrummage for free books ensued.
Most of the group went on to a local restaurant for dinner.
We greatly appreciated being able to come together and talk about multitudinous library matters. It is always interesting to discover what other librarians are doing, and how they are adjusting practices in these uncertain times.
