Professional Development for 2014

As the school year comes to a close we looking ahead to what we can provide for our members next year.  Planning is underway for our AGM and a Weekend School in Dunedin in the July holidays. Further information about this will be available early next year.

Also details are starting to emerge about the Dunedin Writers and Readers Festival in May.  See their Facebook page for details and updates.  It sounds very exciting so far.

For our members who are not able to travel to Dunedin, or want more, we are encouraging you to consider getting involved in the LIANZA Conference in Auckland in September. SLANZA National Executive is working with LIANZA and National Library Services to Schools on a 'school library strand' for the conference with the possibility of a day specifically for school librarians who are not able to attend the whole conference.

We know our members have much to contribute to the wider library community, so we hope you will consider presenting at the conference.  Details regarding submitting abstracts are below and we will be promoting this again as school is getting started, but if you have a bit of a lull in your holidays take some time to consider how you could contribute to our profession and your own professional development.

Thank you, I hope you enjoy the holidays and have a happy New Year.
