Evidence Based Practice (EBP)

Our EBP seminars, presented by Dr Ross Todd of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, were held in Auckland and Wellington (19th and 21st July 2012).

From Term 4 2012, SLANZA members will be invited to attend a series of presentations to be held around the regions, to pass on what attendees learned at these very valuable seminars:
  • to provide school library teams with a range of strategies, initiatives and measurement techniques that will enable them to carefully and effectively chart and document the tangible learning outcomes of their teaching-learning activities,
  • to explore a range of existing tools and measures for charting and documenting evidence on educational and community outcomes,
  • to enable school library teams to be able to build a portfolio of local school evidence of the importance and value of the school library to their school communities,
  • to provide approaches and strategies for the strategic dissemination and use of evidence in school and communities.

We are extremely grateful to Dr Todd for making his seminar materials freely available to SLANZA members. These resources can be accessed via the new "SLANZA members" group on the Virtual Learning Network (VLN). This is a closed (private) group. You will need to sign up on the VLN site, log in and join the SLANZA members group to access these resources.
