I’ve been lucky enough to be a school librarian since 2016, working across both primary and secondary school settings. I’m currently a PYP and MYP IB Librarian at Glendowie School , where I combine my love of books with a passion for inquiry, literacy and helping our Year 0 to 8 students become confident, curious learners. But I'll confess, I’m at my happiest when I’m reading a picture book aloud—complete with all the silly voices!
A love of libraries, reading and all things bookish runs deep in my family. I grew up with a librarian/book maven Mum, a Dad who illustrated children’s books and a New Zealand Book Awards winning older brother - so books have always been a big part of my life.
Before becoming a school librarian, I co-owned and ran an independent bookshop and had a wonderful mis-spent youth working in record shops.
I’ve been a member of SLANZA since 2016 and have been part of the Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Committee since 2021. I love being part of a community that connects, supports and advocates for school librarians across Aotearoa.
