SLANZA Readers Cup

Reading is power over words, thoughts, feelings & experiences. It is the power to choose, the power to decide. (Gwen Gawith)

What is Readers Cup?
Readers Cup is a reading competition designed for Year 9 students. Teams of four students (+one reserve), together read a set of six books and then compete with other school teams to answer quiz questions from the books. Winners from the regional competitions compete in a National Final.

Why do it?
Readers Cup competitions challenge students to read widely, work collaboratively in a team and continue to develop a love of reading. It allows readers to compete at a regional and national level, similar to sporting competitions, and to meet other students with an equal passion for books.

When does it take place?
