The 2013 Annual General Meeting for the School Library Association of New Zealand Aotearoa is to be held at 1pm on Tuesday July 16th, during the SLANZA conference at Wellington Girls' College.
All members are invited to attend the AGM. This year's meeting will include changes to the SLANZA constitution*, and welcoming incoming president Bridget Schaumann. A full agenda will be available to members prior to the meeting.
Apologies may be sent to SLANZA's Administrative Officer (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 5pm, Friday July 12th.
* SLANZA's current constitution can be found on the "About us" page.
The first issue for 2013 is out now and the theme is 'Reading', something close to all our hearts.
We have book clubs, reading promotion, language collections and students interviewing an author. We have author visits from both sides - What does the author get from the visits? What value does the school get from a visit?
See our reader contributions to the question "If the library was on fire, what book would you save?"
Are you ready to be inspired? Are you ready to be challenged? Are you prepared to try something new to entice your readers? Open this issue of SLANZA's Collected magazine and see what practical ideas are being used by New Zealand school librarians just like you at: http://www.slanza.org.nz/collected.html Get comfortable, open your mind and follow the link!
Oh, and while I have your attention... It is not too late to register for our conference, it is going to be a great event, we'd love to see you there.
