As you may already be aware, the National Library have now released more detail on the Services to Schools Transformation programme. The most pleasing part of the April 2 media release was the announcement that the current service will continue until the end of 2015. This change in the time frame will give schools time to adjust and prepare for the changes of service. Thank you to everyone who attended meetings, wrote letters, asked questions or made your feelings felt in some way – through your efforts we were able to make the National Library aware of the feeling among schools and in particular, school library staff.
It has just been announced that schools can have the opportunity to be involved in the transformation project – check the links below to find out how you can apply for this opportunity. This could be a chance for you and your school to take an active part in the implementation of this strategy and ensure a school library voice is heard.
I know we will all follow this project closely and with great interest!
