I am the teen's librarian at the Invercargill Public Library and buy for their teen, graphic novel and audiobook collections. I have been in this role for the last 4 years and have recently finished a Masters in Information Studies. Before working in libraries I was a book buyer for a large book store for a number of years.
I have been a member of SLANZA for the last four years and attended two conferences so far. Through my work I have developed a strong belief in the benefits of fostering strong ties between public and school libraries.
I have also developed strong views on the place of graphic novels in libraries (My masters research focused on the placement of graphic novels in public libraries).
This is my first year on SLANZA's national executive and I look forward to learning a lot from the other national executive members.
