Awards Recipients 2009

SLANZA encourages and rewards excellence in school libraries, recognising the success and achievement of those working in and with school libraries, with a series of annual awards. 


These are the recipients of the 2009 awards:

    • Elaine Pearson, Librarian, Horowhenua College
      Elaine receives this award in recognition for observing a need for school librarians, requiring creative ideas for displays, and for developing a blog, where she shares her fantastic ideas.
  • Award of merit for research

  • Award of merit for library assistant
    • Sheila Duke, Library Assistant, Hillcrest High School High School
      Sheila receives this award in recognition of her professionalism and
      dedication to the Hillcrest High School library.
    • Pamela McKirdy, Library Assistant Wellington East Girls College
      Pamela receives this award in recognition of her sterling work as a library assistant at Wellington East Girls College Library.
    • Lynne Stevens, Corinna School
      Lynne receives this award in recognition of her professionalism and commitment to ensuring the Corinna School library meets the needs of the school community.

    • John Widdup, Principal, Kelston Intermediate
    • Janice Shramka, Principal, Karori West Normal School
