Dear SLANZA Aoraki Members,
SLANZA Aoraki Meeting
National Library Services to Schools Transformation Programme
Rangi Ruru Girls School Library
Wednesday 18th February
3:45pm - 4:45pm
We would like to invite you to a special meeting for our SLANZA Aoraki membership to discuss the proposed changes to the National Library Services to Schools Transformation Programme. If you are unaware of these changes to the curriculum services from the National Library, attached is the information for schools or we invite you to go to the Services for Schools website at this link: http://ow.ly/IiPIy
We will have two special guests at the meeting, Geraldine Howell and Elizabeth Jones. Geraldine is the Director Literacy and Public Programmes for the National Library http://ow.ly/IiQ5j and Elizabeth is National Manager, Learning Futures and Development. We are very fortunate that Geraldine and Elizabeth are willing to talk with our membership, answer questions and hear our concerns.
This meeting is for SLANZA members only (your 2014 membership is still current until the new round of registrations shortly) but if you would like to attend the meeting, you can register as a SLANZA member for 2015 at the meeting or go to our SLANZA website: http://www.slanza.org.nz/personal-membership.html
There are various initiatives from many branches of the education sector such as NZEI, New Zealand Principals Federation, LIANZA and many others who are working to make their concerns heard about this decision from the National Library but please do talk to your Principal and teaching staff about this so you can bring questions and concerns of their behalf.
If you are unable to attend this meeting, you are very welcome to register your concerns or send us your questions via email. Please send these written concerns to any one of those listed below.
Hoping to see you at the meeting.
Your SLANZA Aoraki Committee

In May our members were treated to the Paper Plus buying evening – a bookshop all to ourselves after hours and 25% off purchases that night – what more could we want! We heard from a variety of publishers who gave us a sneak peek at titles coming up soon and shared and chatted about the books that are flying off our library shelves and would recommend to others. Many thanks to Simon and his team from Merivale Paper Plus for hosting is great evening.
